Glass
Glass entered Thomas-Girvan's practice the way many of her materials do – unexpectedly, and with its own logic. Durable yet fragile, strengthened under intense heat: it is a material that embodies contradiction, and one that proved a natural fit for work concerned with transformation and resilience. These sculptures follow that tension, holding it in form and light.
