Fronds
Palm fronds entered Thomas-Girvan's practice the way many of her materials do – collected in nature, held, considered over time. Manipulated and combined with bronze and other elements, the fronds become whimsical vessels and unlikely machines: forms that suggest motion, travel, the possibility of departure. There is always a sense that something is about to move. There is always a message.
